| I have a house in King Edward Park, Edmonton. It has a lower suite with 1 bedroom/1 bath. I'm looking to find a solo* tenant who is looking to live with reduced rent in exchange for carrying out a series of small projects for me from Sept 1 2025 to April 30 2026. List of projects: - Help take care of things that come up for upstairs tenants (like fixing small problems or allowing in contractors/etc if something more specialized arises) - Repair/replace the eavestroughs along both sides of (30') garage roof - Straighten front (2') picket fence - Patch linoleum in basement kitchen (pot burn) - Re-grout bathroom tile where damaged - Replace and paint boards on front steps - Paint new gate of fence - Clean out eaves of house - Trim cedar which is encroaching on eaves/roof - Mend/replace the trim that has been broken or damaged from around inside doors - Oversee install of new exterior doors/windows - Clean up/spray weeds/sucker trees in yard, especially along back fences Person must be handy and responsible, and will require references. I would provide cost of materials, but not all tools. In exchange for the above, rent for the lower suite would be $500/month for 8 month term (usually $1100/month) this equates to up to $4800 reduction. Heat, water, and waste included. Internet/phone/TV not included (often shared with upstairs tenant, but left to tenants to organize that). Two outdoor parking stalls available. Garage available for storage but likely too small to park inside of (overhead door not automatic). A plug-in does reach from garage for cold days re engine block heater. Some furniture is already in the lower suite (queen bed, mattress, couch, kitchen table, 4 chairs); can be kept in place or removed, depending on preference. *Couple could be welcome for the arrangement, but due to the increased impact on bills, would require $250 additional per month for a total of $750. |
