| Hi there! My girlfriend and I are currently looking to rent 1–20 acres of farmland in the Annapolis valley, hopefully within 1 hour drive of Wolfville and ideally with some forested area or a mix of woods and open land. Our goal is to start a small-scale agroforestry operation focused on mushrooms, beekeeping, and low-impact, regenerative practices. We’re a young family based in Wolfville with two little kids, and we dream of becoming first-generation farmers. Right now, we don’t have the space where we live to start our farm business, so we’re looking to rent land for a few years to prove the concept, build up some income, and eventually qualify for a farm loan or financing to purchase our own property in the future. We’re not looking to do anything invasive or permanent, we’d be focused on things like mushroom logs, beehives, composting, and possibly small garden beds or microgreens, all designed to improve the land while being respectful of it. If there’s a small cabin, shed, or outbuilding, that’s a bonus, but not necessary. Ideally we’d be able to rent for 2–3 years and are open to discussing price.
